Biomechanics Program

AD Goaltending announces our new

GOALTENDING BIOMECHANICS PROGRAM.

Sports Science brought to goaltending:

🥅A measurement of why. For the first time ever in hockey, we are able to measure the why behind the what. Anyone can see a goalie is more powerful or quicker than another. Our new system measures “why” at a rate of 3 MILLION data points per second.

🥅We take this data and build a report to truly understand what is happening within an athlete.

🥅At its simplest form, this is a measurement of efficiency in the interactions between the nervous system and the muscular system to create movement.

🥅Identify patterns that are indicative of injury!

High force + Low Stability = INJURY

We can measure how the body produces force, and where it goes. Wear and tear patterns have been prevalent amongst goalies in recent years. Part of our mission is to stop this, and keep goalies off of the operating table.

What is the process?

1. During a lesson, we run a biomechanic scan of a goalie and build a report that explains every aspect of their movement.

2. We train off the ice to teach proper movement patterns and build muscles memory and strength within the systems identified in your report. Commonly, a goalie can have plenty of strength but not even be activating the systems required due to improper muscle memory

3. We finish the program (right before the season starts) with another biomechanic scan. This allows us to MEASURE GROWTH in a goalie a show how we have increased a goaltender’s ability!
